Make that Two Days Off

Okay, I'm kind of backsliding here. Let me make my case before you judge me, however, as not being committed to this project. I am SORE, terribly, awfully, can't-make-it-up-the-stairs-or-bend-over-without-grunting SORE. I feel like Nathan Lang in that one movie where he looked up to the sky and cried: "Why do you hate me, God?!"

I had every good intention of doing Core Rhythms today, but all of my muscles are tight and bunched up, and I'm worried that I truly may hurt myself by working out again. So I took off one more day. Let's call that a "rest day," that way it's part of my workout routine and not cheating. Yeah, I'm justifying. It makes me feel better.

I did a lot of laundry and cleaned up the house today, so I wasn't totally inactive, just not as much as usual. Stephen was home until about 10:30 a.m. when he left for this week's business trip, so my morning was kind of off. I did go to the bagel shop, but hey, I wrote it all down.

Last night the 2,200 calories I consumed yesterday were bugging me, but then I remembered an article in Oxygen magazine about cycling your calories, and how if you deprive yourself without any break, your body goes into starvation mode; if you "trick" your body by cycling low and high calorie days -- or low, moderate and then high carb days -- you will continue to lose weight and stay on track.

If you have any tricks for helping sore muscles, please post. Tonight is homework and kids and laundry, oh my! See eating journal below. I am off to soak in Epsom salt. This is one night I miss merlot.
